Claws For Change is a purpose-driven business with a mission to create beautiful hair claws that not only look good, but also make a positive impact on our planet.
With every hair claw purchase, a portion of each sale is donated to incredible charities dedicated to supporting wildlife and protecting habitat.

My name is Ree and I am the founder of Claws for Change. I have a Masters degree in Conservation Biology and am a passionate advocate for wildlife and habitat protection, as well as a lover of all things fashion!

2022
where it all started
Claws For Change started after the birth of our daughter. I wanted to wear my hair up, but also wanted to use a Hair Claw as it’s more gentle on your hair than other methods.
I love the ocean, so went looking for cute ocean animal hair claws. I was so surprised when I found that there just weren't any out there. So I thought to myself "why not design one"!
Our store opened through the Etsy platform, selling just a handful of our earliest designs.
2023
Expanding
2023 saw us open our own dedicated online store and continue to grow our product range.
We also formalised our partnership with the Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS). The donation to conservation organisations is a massive part of why we do this & we are so proud to be one of AMCS's business supporters.
In mid-2023 we were able to raise the donation from $2 to $5 from every Hair Claw sold.
Today
looking forward
We still run the business from our tiny apartment, which we have outgrown months ago! Our lounge looks a mini warehouse.
And we continue to work on new designs that we think our customers will love.
